Trattoria Dalla Filu

Passing through during a trip we found this bar-restaurant with a very retro style and therefore fascinating. We were offered a complete menu of drinks for €30 with starters, a first course and a second course, side dish with drinks included. Put like this, the price would also be good, but it was the quantities that did not satisfy us: the tordelli dish in the photo (among other things, very good) was for five people, the second was made up of a slice of roast loin, an eighth of roast chicken, 5 roast potatoes each. It must be said that the second courses were also good, but even here the quantities left something to be desired compared to the price paid. Water and cola from Eurospin (but also possibly the wine that we didn't take) were included. In short, the food was good, but the quantities compared to the price paid and the environment were not proportionate in my opinion. All good I might say, but not at that price.

I discovered this restaurant almost by chance, so much so that, curious, at the first opportunity I wanted to have dinner there. On that occasion everything was set up outside, a location with few frills, very "spartan", but as they say, it ultimately justifies the means. Starters, first course, second course, a bottle of red wine (Bolgheri) for a total of 25 euros each. Simple but truly exquisite cuisine, absolutely worth trying. Now that I've tried it, it will definitely be one of my regular stops. P.S. if you go to dinner, bring a duster or a sweatshirt, because there is a pleasant fresh air coming from the fortress, in short it feels really good.

For those like me who are nostalgic for the years "that were" this is one of the most enchanting and representative places, here time has stopped... Light years away from the stress of today. And this atmosphere is amplified by Filu, a restaurateur who manages the place alone and instils tranquility with her calmness and sweet Tuscan accent, while on weekends she is helped by other people. We went two evenings in a row, the first evening we had house appetizers, consisting of cured meats such as salami and local ham, then aubergine parmigiana, savory pie and omelette with fennel, the latter very good and I wouldn't have said it, as to accompany it he brought us a focaccia cooked in a wood oven. Then we chose one of Filu's strong dishes (the second course is the sliced meat), the tordelli! The best I've ever eaten. Since we had seen the tagliatelle passed by at other tables, the decision was made to try it and we went the following evening too. The tagliatelle also cooked in a wood oven, simply exceptional. We heard that some had ordered the suckling pig and that during the summer months he also cooks other types of meat. The cost is that of a restaurant, so no surprises. Okay I fell in love with this place. Downsides? Mosquitoes, however Filu has different types of Autan.
